A lone figure stands in silhouette on a dark shelf of coastal rock, facing a flat sea and a low headland on the far horizon. Broken cumulus fills most of the frame, backlit so the cloud edges burn pale while the foreground stone holds almost no detail. The split-toned treatment pushes the sky toward warm sepia and the rock toward cold blue-black.

A few years ago I was in Dublin on business, after a day there, on a whim I asked my son to fly out and join for a few days... his spirit was in for it and he came. I think I worked the next two days, he explored on his own in the day and we dined at night. Then we rented a car and headed to the West Coast of Ireland to circumnavigate I think the ring of Kerry. Driving on the wrong side of the road, on the narrow country roads, neither of us with any experience, some of the biggest smiles for both of us. This is him, at one of our stops as we took in the amazing views. You can't trade experiences with those you love for anything. Make it happen.
