31.5″ × 21.5″ on the wall, with the frame

Good detail. Made to be seen from a step or two back, as a piece this size usually is.

Above 24″, printed from an enlarged file

The piece was developed in our studio using digital and AI tools, and the same tools enlarged it for large-format printing. At these sizes fine detail is interpreted rather than photographed.

A female bluebird perches on the split, silvered top of a weathered fence post, her grey head and cinnamon-washed breast set against the deep blue of folded wing and tail. Low sunlight comes from the side, picking out the grain and lichen on the cut timber and the fine edges of her feathers. Behind her the ground falls away into a soft wash of tawny and dun, holding no detail at all.

The photograph that inspired this piece

Fencepost Sentinel

It begins with an original photograph of a real place. This version was developed from that photograph in our studio, using digital and AI tools guided by the original’s own composition, with no words set on it. How these are made.
